Brent’s Bunch Schedule Change - DARK tomorrow February 1

Hi.  Brent is off to Africa tomorrow for 3 weeks, and so the schedule he issued mid December is revised.

February 8 - Guest Caller John Corrigan

February 15 - DARK

We had our first dance at the new hall last Thursday, and it is a lovely venue.  The room is spacious with a nice ambiance.  There is a small elevator for those who have difficulty with stairs, but the stairs were easy.  We didn't find the thermostat, but the windows open.  As far as I know, all fit in the parking lot, and parking is much closer to the hall than at Burnaby Lake.  If you didn't make it out last Thursday, we hope to see you February 8 or soon!

Brent's Bunch Cancelled for Jan 18 Due to Snow

Hi Everyone,

 

Unfortunately, due to the heavy snowfall today and weather reports expecting more in Burnaby until Friday, we will cancel the dance tomorrow, Thursday, Jan 18. 

 

Also, the Surrey Square Wheelers No Experience Needed dance tonight, Jan 17, at the Brookswood Activity Centre, Langley, is also CANCELLED due to the snow but will resume next week Wed, Jan 24.  If you know of anyone in the Langley / Surrey area who may be interested in learning to square dance please let them know.  Steve Edlund and I will be co-teaching this new dancer class.

P.S. Square Dancers in Williams Lake, BC, don't let a little snow slow them down.

Brent’s Bunch Spring 2024 Sessions – New Location and Who’s In?

Hi Brent's Bunch Members & Regular Guests,

As we've mentioned at the dances, the Burnaby Lake Pavilion is being renovated in 2024 so is no longer available.  We have been looking for a new hall in Burnaby on Thursday nights for several months and have appreciated all the suggestions we have received.  Therese has checked them all out and they were either not available on Thursdays or significantly more expensive. 

The best option we have found is the Alan Emmott Centre, 6650 Southoaks Crescent, Burnaby.  This is a beautiful facility with dance floor, run by the City of Burnaby and the rate is very reasonable.

We will maintain the current schedule of doors open at 7:15pm, with Plus dancing with rounds from 7:30pm – 9:15pm.

C.      would attend Brent's Bunch dances if they were held on a Monday night &/or a Wednesday night (just in case we look for alternate halls to know what days would be most popular)

When I hear from most people, I'll confirm the schedule and fees.

Visit to Stardowners November 9

Just over a square of us had a terrific time last Thursday visiting Stardowners, where we retrieved our banner.  The club very kindly switched to Plus that night so we could attend.  Thank you for a great evening, Ray and Stardowners!

Hi Dancing Friends,

Get ready to embark on a Train-Themed Plus Dance.  The Brent's Bunch Party Train is pulling into the station, and we don't want you to miss the fun!

Time: 7:30 – 9:20pm for Plus Dancing with Rounds (doors open at 7:15pm)
Location: Burnaby Lake Pavilion, 6871 Roberts St, Burnaby, BC, Canada
Guest Fee: $9.00 CAD / person (debit card or cash)

We will have train-themed music and decorations, and sweet and savory treats.  

You are welcome to come as you are or dress in your favorite train-inspired attire – whether you're a conductor, engineer, or a passenger ready for the adventure.  I'll be sure to have my train engineer gear.
