Captain No Beard Brent Mawdsley welcomed his motley crew to a Talk Like A Pirate Day dance on Thursday.  There were nautical calls, lots of great costumes, and t-ARRRRR-rible jokes.  Spirits were high - was that from the rum in the cupcakes?

Brent’s Bunch Talk Like a Pirate Dance Thurs, Sept 14 & Season Schedule

Ahoy there, ye square-dancing scallywags and buccaneers!

 

You are cordially invited to join us for a swashbucklin' good time at our first dance of the season with a Pirate-themed party celebrating "Talk Like A Pirate Day".

 

🏴‍☠️ Date: Thursday, September 14

🏴‍☠️ Time: 7:30 – 9:15pm for Plus Dancing with Rounds (doors open at 7:15pm)

🏴‍☠️ Location: Burnaby Lake Pavilion, 6871 Roberts St, Burnaby, BC  

🏴‍☠️ Dress Code: Pirate or square dance attire or come as you are (whatever makes you happy)

 

Grab yer eye patches & tricorn hats and prepare to set sail on a night of adventure, grog, and dancing on the high seas.  We'll have pirate-themed decorations, music, and even some special square dance moves. 

 

So, ye scurvy dogs and lasses, prepare to join Captain No Beard Brent and the crew for a night of revelry.

 

A dance flyer is attached.  The guest fee is $9.00 / person (debit card or cash).

New Season Starts With an Arrrrrgh September 14

Brent and Ron treated us to a couple of duets tonight at Brent's Bunch.

You can catch them again Sunday, April 30 2:00 - 4:30 pm at the benefit dance for the Zajac Ranch for Children.  Brent and Ron will be joined by Ray Brendzy, Steve Edlund and Chris Knowles for an afternoon of Mainstream singing calls.  Brian Penny will cue the rounds.  Hope to see you at the ASAA Hall, 33889 Essendene Ave, Abbotsford.  Admission by donation (minimum $10/person).  Tax receipts available if over $20.
