Visitors from Olympia WA

We were delighted to welcome Gary and Cindy from Olympia WA to our first dance of 2026. Above are Cindy, Therese, Brent, Gary and Chuck. Happily, they will be back to dance with us again in February, and are registered for Festival 2026 in Penticton.

Chuck is modelling the black and blue club colours we had while named the Chuckouts, ten years ago.

Brent’s Bunch Spring 2026 Session Schedule

Hi Brent's Bunch Members & Regular Guests,

 

Happy New Year!  We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed the holidays.  We look forward to seeing you all again, and more regularly, this spring, starting with our first dance next Thursday, January 15. 

 

All dances will be at the Alan Emmott Centre, 6650 Southoaks Crescent, Burnaby, BC.

 

Brent's Bunch dance schedule for the Spring 2026 season will include 13 Thursday evenings as listed below and in the attached PDF document.

We will maintain the current schedule of doors open at 7:15 pm, with Plus dancing with rounds from 7:30 pm – 9:15 pm.  We do not plan to provide any drinks or have a food break except on special occasions to be determined. 

 

The nightly dance fees will remain the same at $8 / person for prepaid sustaining members and $10 / person for guests. 

 

The sustaining member prepaid rate will be $8 x 13 = $104 / person.  If you were a prepaid member for the Fall 2026 session, we owe you for one missed session in December 2025, so your fee will be $8 x 12 = $96 / person. You can pay at the dance by cash, check, or tap (credit or debit card), or e-transfer to Brent.Mawdsley@gmail.com.

We collected toys, $322 in financial donations and over $50 in gift cards for Burnaby Community Services.

Brents Bunch Christmas Dance is Thursday and other reminders

Hi - Therese asked me to remind everyone that this Thursday is our Christmas wind up.  Here are the details from Brent again:

Our Christmas dance will now be on December 11 7:30-9:15.  We will be serving coffee, tea, and goodies.  If you would like, please bring a small plate of goodies for sharing.  Also, if you would like to invite guests to come and dance or just visit, please see the attached poster to share.  

We are also collecting donations for Toys for Tots.

If you are thinking of attending the 2026 National in Penticton next July, the price goes up by $25/person on January 1, and a $5 fee will be applied for credit card payments.  Also the first of the reserved hotel blocks will be released to the general public on January 15.  Details on the website.

Brent's Bunch updates

Hello everyone, 

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying our wonderful weather in the Northwest. 

Brent just had his 5th treatment and is resting, with one more to go!  Thank you for all your support and prayers as we navigate his treatments.  

Tonight is Bryan Clark calling. I will be home with Brent due to his treatment today.   Thank you, Debra, for opening the hall and helping with the sign-in sheets and collecting money.  

Next week, on December 4, John Corrigan is calling. 

I have contacted Burnaby Parks, and the heating should be working to a better temperature than last week. I have also cancelled our dance on December 18 due to Brent's last treatment.  Dancers who have prepaid, we will reduce the amount owing for the next season of dancing.
