Christmas Wind Up

 
We had a fun wind up with 4 squares dancing. Here is a photo of (most of) the toys collected for the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.

Burnaby will be installing new flooring at the hall the first week of January, and so our start up has been delayed to January 11, 2018.  We will post an updated schedule as soon as we are able to confirm our proposed addition of a different dance night.

Brent's Bunch Square Dancing

Spooky and DARK

We had a fun Halloween Dance last Thursday, with lots of great costumes and festive outfits.  Kudos to Debra for her totally SPOOKtacular cookies, cupcakes, chocolate witch hats, pumpkins, candy and amazing sandwiches!

A reminder we are DARK on November 2 and 9.  We will visit Surrey Square Wheelers on Tuesday, November 7.  See you back at Burnaby Lake Pavilion on November 16.

Surrey Square Wheelers visitation to Brent's Bunch

Eight Surrey Square Wheelers fought wind and rain to visit us last night.  A great time was had, meeting old friends and making new ones. We will return the visit on Tuesday, November 7 and hope to retrieve our banner.

AYE AYE....The photos are proof that pirates day is a popular theme dance for square dancers!   So many to thank for making this dance YO HO HO... especially Brent and his pirate rolling 'rrrrrr's' calling and jokes (not so much),  Dave & Jenny for all the pirate decorations, John & Narda for the wonderful door prizes, and Daphne and her 2 sisters for the labour of love making all the pirate themed cookies and other goodies.

Brent's Bunch Square Dancing

 

Celebrating Brent's 25 Years of Calling at Circle 8 Ranch

Two squares of us had a wonderful time dancing and socializing at Brent Mawdsley and Scott Coon's program at Circle 8 Ranch in Cle Elum WA this past weekend.  We celebrated Brent's 25 years of calling there in style.  Thanks to the Knees for decking the hall with 25 theme decorations, the Finlaysons for hosting the Friday night potluck and to the Klassens for organizing dinner out on Saturday.  We won the trophy for the club with the most pre-registered dancers.  After checking out the 2 photos of Brent below, press here to see more photos taken by Therese and Jenny.

We will visit the Royal Swingers this coming Friday, April 7.  They have over a square signed up to visit us the following week for our Easter Dance, so let's try for a good turnout for this visit.  Wear your burgundy and white if you have it.

Mystery Dance is this Thursday

This Thursday is our annual ? theme dance, where only Brent and his family know the theme ahead of time.  If you wear an outfit that matches the theme, you'll be in the running for a prize.  Past years' themes have been Mardi Gras, Western, Rock and Roll, Mexican, Michael Buble - will it be something new or will he fool us by repeating one?  To add to the spirit of guessing, Marguerite is asking that you bring your wedding photo or other photo from the past if you'd like.  Come and join in the fun!

The Swinging Singles will be visiting (6 or 7 dancers).

Reminder - Brent's Bunch is DARK on Thursday March 9

Due to Brent's work travel, there will be no dance on March 9. We will resume with our St. Patrick's Dance on Thursday, March 16. Hope to see you then!

Both couples who intended to visit Surrey Square Wheelers this week have discovered they have schedule conflicts and won't be going. So no formal visitations booked, but I'm sure you're welcome anywhere!
